What a Hoot!

I have been working on this quilt.
I had made it originally just a small quilt.
Then I was asked if I could make it bigger.
So...now it is bigger!
It might even grow up a bit more,
not sure just yet.

What to do?

So, I am not sure if I am just tired or on a creative streak.
I designed this quilt last night, in my sleep, all night!
I really don't sleep well while designing.
My math just never seems to work in my dreams.
Well, I got up this morning and put the designs
from my sleep into EQ6.
Next I wrote up cutting instructions,
and started cutting and piecing.
Well, here it is:
I think the center is a bit boring.
I am thinking about slicing up the middle
and inserting black strips.
If I cut them 1" wide, it won't change the
measurement of the inside piece.
Maybe I should take a break,
sleep on it, and see how I feel about it in the morning.

This is going to be a busy couple of weeks.
I am busy creating quilt patterns with the Exclusively Quilters fabric lines.
I have many quilts to make in the next 2 weeks,
so there should be many pictures for me to share.
Wish me luck on this crazy quilt marathon.

Wondrous Wednesdays

I know it is Wednesday,
but I finished the Thursday block last night
and just had to share it today!

Now, for some new stuff.
We have the new McKenna Ryan patterns.
"All Cooped Up"

We have new fabrics that go with the patterns, too.
Aren't they Yummy!

The patterns come one block at a time.
I spread them out just so you could see them.

Guess what?
Janis came into the store today with the Tribute to Vincent quilt
all quilted.
It is great!
She did thread painting on it as well.
We should have patterns later this week!
This one is an original by yours truly.
At this time, Bolts in the Bathtub is the only store with the patterns.

Blog at you later,

Monday!!

Here is a small quilt made with the "What a Hoot" fabric line from Exclusively Quilters.
I did this one and took it is to share at Bolts in the Bathtub, and Fay said "Hey, you could make that with the Owl line from Moda too!"  So guess what, I did:

Ta Dah!

I wanted to share something my Grandma Toni is making.
She was asked by her friend of 52 years, Gloria, to make a memory quilt to hang in her casket at her funeral.
My Grandma's friend Gloria is on hospice and will leave us before we are ready.
I have never heard of a casket quilt, I don't think Grandma Toni has either, but she made it up anyway.

Other news, I must have wiped my right eye before I woke up yesterday and scratched it.
I was in great pain yesterday and did not accomplish anything.
Today is a bit better, I am not going to venture outside, because the sunlight hurts so much!
I am in my cave for the day.
I managed to write a couple of patterns and get a few things done at least.
Hope I am much better tomorrow!!

Wondrous Wednesdays

Eden by Moda!
I love this!!
The color ia a bit off from taking pictures under the store lights,
but let me tell you, this one is fun.

There are 7 pieces that were just put out on the floor today.
I am working up a quilt with this line.

I have starting cutting fabric.
I am calling this pattern:
Lovely in Lavendar.

I will share more as the quilt progresses.
Blog at you later,
So much to create,
Tiffany

I love to applique.
Needle turn applique.
I have been working on the Chocolate blocks.

This cute one with the birds is from Bunny Hill Designs

These are so quick to whip up.
I love them!

This one is from Bunny Hill Designs

Fabric Arrival!!!

The UPS man showed up at my door around noontime today!
He delivered this fun fabric from Exclusively Quilters.
I am designing a cute little quilt with this line.

Stay tuned and I will share with you when I get the top together.

I also have 2 quilts to make from this great fabric.
It is running yardage with Dresden Plates and a great border.

The weather outside is soggy!
Soggy Southern California,
what a great day to stay inside and quilt.
Working of soup and fresh bread for dinner, too!

Design Board Insanity!!

What in the world happened?
I went from hardly doing any quilting,
to over achiever yet again!!
There are 4 different projects in process just on my design board.

I finished this cute little block from Bunny Hill Designs last night.
It is the January block from 2009.

Today I am working on my Tribute to Vinne quilt.
This one has a satin stitich around all the frames.
I am usually a hand applique girl,
so I am trying to master a new technique.
So far so good.
5 blocks done, 4 to go!

Wondrous Wednesdays!

Love U!    By Moda

How cute is this line.
Owls are so in right now!

These 3 bolts are flannel.
I think some jammie bottoms would be great!

These flannels have just arrived as well.
Cabin Flannels are by Timeless Treasures.
These look like good choices for the men and boys.
Maybe more jammie bottoms
(it is rather cold in most of the country).

See you soon,
Tiffany

Monday!!

What's on my design board?
Well, I have made this Milkshake!
It is the first block from a patten by Lizze B Cre8tive.
It is starting to be a very fun and cute quilt.

Check out their website:  http://www.lizziebcre8ive.com/

Now, what else might be on the design board today?
I was pressing the Milkshake block this morning
and decided to go on and press some more applique blocks.
Have you ever pressed your applique?
I was taught to take a bath towel and put in on the ironing board.
Go ahead and double up the towel.
Place your applique block face down on the towel.
I like to use the Best Press Clear Starch.
Give a few sprays to the back of the block and press.
This will make the block look great without smashing down
all your beautiful applique.

Well, I got carried away pressing and dug out
some blocks that I started last year.
I will try to get this quilt finished
and ready for Valentines Day this year.
I am excited to see these blocks again.
This is one I am designing as I go.
I don't know what you think, but I love it so far!!

Until next time,
Tiffany

Wondrous Wednesdays

Where have I been?

Well, that is the question of the year, 2010 at least.  I finally sat down at my machine today.  I hadn't been near it since before Christmas.  We usually play together almost every day.  I think I was on after holiday overload.

Now I am ready to play in the studio again.

I was at work tonight, Bolts in the Bathtub, and have something new to share.

It is time for the Hoffman Challenge of 2010!!
We have the entire challenge line of fabrics.
I took a quick snapshot just to get you inspired.
You can check out www.hoffmanchallenge.com to finds out how to enter.

I need to share what I have been working on, just to keep me on the right track.
So, check back soon (maybe even tomorrow) to see whats on my design board.

Blog at you soon,
Tiffany
