Florabunda Blog Hop - Blue Without You - Take 2

Here I am again with my Blue Without You quilt.
I blogged about it the other day.
You can read that post here:

Florabunda Blog Hop - Blue Without You

When I blogged previously the pattern for this beauty
wasn't quite ready.
Guess what?

Yep, it is ready now.
I have it up on my website.

Click on the pattern cover below to get the correct web page.

As long as you are here,
I thought I would share a few more
action shots of the quilt with you.

Action shots?
Well, yes!
Taking pictures in the Antelope Valley always results
in what I call action shots.
We have wind here like you wouldn't believe.

Sure makes taking quilt pictures interesting.

I think this quilt dropped from the tree at least 4 times
before I got these two pictures.

It's a bit easier on the bench, but the shadows did not help.

Designing, piecing, quilting.
I can do that.

Getting great photos, not so great!

I brought the quilt inside and thought
"one more shot of the fabric just to show it's beauty".

So, there you have another glance at this quilt.

Make sure you check out the posts from the other makers.
It is marvelous to see what the others have created
with the same collection of fabrics.

Florabunda Blog Hop - Blue Without You

Welcome

Are you ready to get this party started?
I am!

Well, here my quilt called "Blue without You"

I feel like a pretty lucky girl (quilter)
to get invited to this Blog Hop.
When I was asked, I jumped right on in before
I even know what the fabrics looked like.

Boy was I in for a happy surprise.
To me, these fabrics look like
elements from stained glass.

I love glass work of all kinds.
So, happy me.

As soon as my fabric arrived I was ready to cut it up.
Thank goodness I remembered to take a picture
before I started with the rotary cutter.

I started cutting and stitching.
Then I put up all my pieces on the
design board (which I love).

Once the top was together I was off to pick thread colors and load the quilt onto the long arm.
I found a lovely lavender for the top thread.

Once it was a quilt I tried to get a great picture.
As you can see, I got an action shot, ha ha!
I live in a very windy city.

I decided flat on the ground just might be by best chance.

Now for the flip side...

I almost always stitch a sleeve onto my quilts.
I sneak the top of the sleeve up under the binding.

I always try to get a label onto my quilts.
This has been my downfall for years.

Lately I have gotten much better at this.
I print all the important information onto a
paper backed fabric that I can feed through a printer.
This has really been a great way for me to
document each quilt.

Just in case you would like to recreate this quilt
I have a pattern.
Well, I almost have a pattern.

Just click on the pattern cover below
to find it on my website.

Don't forget to check in on all the great designers.
I have listed them below.

You can make sure I will be Blog Hopping just like you.
I am excited to see what everyone creates with this beautiful fabric.

A Complete Quilt Along!

I tried to get a beauty shot of my Quilt Along quilt
to share in this last blog post, but I live in the Windy City.
No, not Chicago.
Lancaster, California!

It is an area called the Antelope Valley
(nope, no antelope here).

We have crazy wind.

The joke here is that the Antelope Valley Wind Festival
is from January 1st to December 31st every year.

Since I could not get a nice picture with this breeze
(she said and laughed),
I had to put the quilt down on the grass.

While I had it out flat I thought I would give a couple more views of the fabulous quilting that my DH did.

I am so impressed with what he adds to the quilt.

Side note - we (Scott & I), have a quilt in the newest edition of American Patchwork and Quilting.
It hits newsstands June 5th.
We are over the moon excited!

Remember last week?
When I shared a bunch of my leftover pieces.
Well, I managed to get them together
and created a table topper for under our TV.
There are squares and a few random
half square triangles.
It fits perfectly.
I was pleasantly surprised at the size the leftovers created!
Someday it may get quilted (soon, I hope).

I have really enjoyed getting to share in this Quilt Along.
I want to give a great big thank you to
for inviting me to join in.
I also want to thank Karen Brandt O'Connor
who I got to meet at quilt Market.
These women all inspire me!

I hope you were inspired as well.

Just for future information I will be part of a
Blog Hop starting June 7th.
I am the first stop on the Hop,
so stop on by and see what the
next great adventure is all about.

Hope you had fun!
