Special Quilting for a Spring Table Runner

I decided I wanted to go above and beyond
my normal all over meander quilting.
A table runner sounded like a good place to start.
This runner is a store sample using the
Calypso line from Maywood Studio.
Bolts in the Bathtub will have kits available in April.
It is so cheery I can't help but smile.
I had fun with the quilting.
It sure does take a lot longer to do,
but the results are worth the time and the effort.
Isn't it sweet?

Now off to work on another one...

Little House of Quilts revisited!

I went to visit my Mom and Grandma over the weekend.
They live in Perris, and there is a quilt store in Sun City.
I have visited it and posted about it before,
but is has a new owner.
It is a cute store.
I acquired a couple of batik fabrics
(surprise, surprise)!
I love batiks!
There was a cute quilt on the table.
More fabric.
I have some pictures of my Mom's and Grandma's houses.
You will see those next.

AVQA Guest Speaker - Lyn Mann

Tonight I attended the
Antelope Valley Quilt Association Guild Meeting.
There was a guest speaker, Lyn Mann.
She was great!
Her patterns are available on her website.
You can either click on her name above or
click on the link below:

She was entertaining
and had great ideas about borders.
I have collected all the pictures I took tonight
to share in one quick blog post.
I felt inspired to do some of my own creating again.
I have been creating quilt patterns
for fabric companies for specific lines.
I find that the quilt patterns
I create need to be simple in nature.
I have decided I may be a bit more complex
than I have been portraying.
Doing a little quilt designer soul searching.
Stay tuned.
Who knows what will come next.

Leprechaun House

Finished constructing my second and final house.

Paper piecing has a purpose in my life.
Luckily, I don't need it too often.

I love the results.
Not sure I am in love with the process.
That said,
I am off to do a bit of hand applique
(that I do love!)

Little Pink House

This house is tiny!
The block measures 3 3/4" x 7"!
I added the dime
just so you could see how crazy this is.

I worked on it for hours tonight
and I have one more to make.
Not tonight!!

This will be one of many houses
that are being created for an auction quilt.
I am sure it will be adorable
when construction is completed!

This was the first time I have been at my sewing machine
in what feels like a really long time.
I must get back to sewing.
Website work is just sooo time consuming.
Time to make time to play again!
