The Goddess Block Project–Block 12

The last block (for now)!  Spinning Wheel Block.

DSC_0033

I really had a good/tough time designing these blocks!  The blocks themselves came rather easily, but writing, filming, editing and all that jazz takes a toll on a quilter.  I need to spend more time at my sewing machine and less time at my computer.  It seems to be my never ending struggle.  Well, here is the last of the blocks in this series.

I really think this one is fun and funky!  Someday you may see these as actual patterns, you never know!  As for now, I am off to other adventures (in the quilt world, of course) and the occasional Harley ride.  The weather is beautiful here, great time for a ride.  Gotta go…

The Goddess Block Project–Block 11

I have a special block to share this week.  I designed this one quite a while back.  It is called the Stunning Star.DSC_0032 (3)

It is a fun block to make (at least it was a fun one for me).  I have actually used this block in a quilt before.Block 11

I made this one up into a quilt with a second block intermixed.  This is a digital version.  On the actual quilt, every star is a different color.  It is currently on display.  It will be raffled off this coming Saturday, so my job is to try and get some great pictures of the quilt before it belongs to someone else.AVPCC 2014I will keep you posted about how the quilt looks and how the raffle goes.

By the way, if you watch the video I let you know that I have decided to bring this project to an end.  There will be one more FREE Quilt Block for The Goddess Block Project next week.  Block 12 will be the last of the Free Blocks.  I hope you have enjoyed each block each week.

There is just so much always going on!

The Goddess Block Project–Block 10

I just love Saint Patrick’s Day!  The food, the green, the clover.  Speaking of Clover, that is the name of this weeks block!

DSC_0011

It is a rather simple block.  A basic 4 patch really, with just a bit of tweaking.

I just couldn't help myself, this one is done with 2 1/2” squares of green to make it scrappy.  I will turning this into  a pillow for out couch.

Here are a couple of variations that you can do with this block.  This first one shows off the clover.

This second variation is just a bit crazy.  You really have to look to find the cover here.Clover Quilt 2

This one is crazy on the eyes, but I really like it as a quilt.  So much going on!  I never seem to tire of the Alison Glass Handcrafted.  Did you know there will be another line of Handcrafted?  I cannot wait to get my hands on it!  For now just enjoy this crazy quilt designed with 36 of the Oh My Star! Blocks.Block 9 Quilt

I am ahead of myself by just a bit (hardly ever happens), but I can tell you next weeks block has an Irish theme to it.
