Funday Friday with Monsters!

Look out, Monsters!
The quilt friends I play with most every Friday morning,
the Nimble Thimbles,
have been working on these monster blocks for some time now.
Finally we have 9 monsters to put together.
We straightened them up a bit,
gave them a trim,
and decided what to do with them next.
Ilana is gonna add some borders to them
and next week they shall get another trim.
I am sure they will show up on the blog again
in a couple of weeks.

Now for some heart blocks and pieced blocks.
These are coming togther nicely as well.
We made all these in a week.
We are over-achievers, no doubt!
We arranged them,
considered our options,
and Peggy took them home.
They should look much more like a quilt top soon.
Now for a quick personal share.
These bread rolls looked to good not to share.
They were for dinner last night and they were yummy.
I love to get someone from my household (sometimes even me)
to put ingredients into the bread maker and set it on the dough cycle.
Then we usually put the bread in a stone loaf pan and bake.
Last night I just shaped breadrolls and baked them up.
They sure were good!
I must have been in the baking mood.
I have been craving some Oatmeal Raisin Cookies for a couple of weeks.
Yesterday I made them.
I took a couple of dozen to Robotics and shared.
I left a few at home for us.
They must have been good, they are practically gone!
Well,
I need to go do some machine quilting,
then off to the Fish Fry for dinner (yea, no cooking today).
So, blog at you later,
Tiffany

Wonderous Wednesdays

Minkee, Cuddle or Whimsy
whatever you want to call it
is sure is soft and lovely.
The UPS guy brought it in this morning,
and we had it processed in the system
and out on the floor for you to see
by this afternoon!
I know this one is hard to see,
but it is a black on black
with a paisley pattern.
I just love this one!

The Owls are Quilted!

They still need binding and label,
but the quilting is done!

4:00 pm The top is done!

Good thing this little quilt only measures 36" x 36".
Now I need to cook dinner and then quilt this baby.
I hope to send it out in the morning.
Wish me luck!

What a Hoot! What a Challenge!

Today I need to make from scratch
this small quilt from Exclusively Quilters.
They are going to have the sales reps take it out to quilt stores
and use it to display the fabric line.
There is a free pattern on their website.
Here is the link:

Well, I need to get busy.
I will post later so you can see how much
progress I have made by the end of today.

ABB! (All But Borders)

Does it seem to anyone else that borders tend to take an extreme amount of time to actually get on the quilt?
Well, it does to me!
This one is finished being appliqued.
It sure was fun, you know the letters took longer than the rest of it.
I'll give you another peek when the borders are picked out and put on.

Now a bit of info from the shop, Bolts in the Bathtub.
Here is a new line that came in just recently.
It is from Wilmington Prints, Tranquil Moments.
Seashells and such, makes me want to head to the beach to go camping.
I will, I just have to wait a bit.
We have a few days booked at Carpinteria Beach (my favorite) the beginning of June.
Anyway, Dawna has been piecing the top for this quilt.
I think we will have a couple of kits made up soon.
Now for some Nimble Thimbles info:
We are working on putting together this Monsters Quilt.
Here are 2 of the 9 blocks.
I believe Ilana is going to get this top together for our group.
We love you, Ilana!
Linda has been working on a couple of our groups philanthropic quilts.
Here is one that is pieced.
This one is almost done being quilted by Linda.
She is doing a great job!
Check this out:
Peggy has a brand new baby!!
Well, actually is is a brand new Bernina 830 (lucky duck!)
She is awsome.
She had the machine, I mean baby, for less than a week
and was digitizing.  Amazing!
She did the block above and the block below.
I am anxiously awaiting all the new exciting things she will produce.
She has not named her baby yet, so if you have any ideas for her,
you can share them with me and I will pass them on.
I have so much to share today.
I was under a critical deadline a couple of weeks ago,
then came down with walking pnumonia,
then needed some very quiet down time.
I am back at it now and hope to post much more often.
I understand there are followers who expect new stuff frequently.

Next thing to share are a couple of blocks I have made since Friday.
We decided in out quilt group that there is someone we need to make a quilt for.
We are quilters, when there is a need, we quilt.
It's what we do.
So, anyone from Nimble Thimbles that is up to the challenge was requested to make 2 blocks:
10 1/2" x 10 1/2" unfinished.
One block pieced,
one block with a heart or hearts.
All to be done in pastels.
So here are mine:
Now I am off to do some machine quilting,
there is so much to do after you have been sick.
I hope to post real soon.
Love you, my friends,
Tiffany
